The Amanda Rose Laura Foundation has funded the creation of an artist residency at Catalyst Maria High School in Chicago in partnership with Young Chicago Authors. This residency is entitled The People’s History of Chicago Residency. This program is rooted in identity, pride and empowerment. It teaches students spoken word, poetry, music and visual arts. Over the next 5 weeks, over 1,000 students will be engaged with themes of home, community and self. The culmination of this work will be performances by the students during the end of the year student exhibition.
